KEY BENEFITS

INCREASED CONFIDENCE

As the focus of all the training is on wellness rather than illness, it builds attendees knowledge and competence on empowering people to take responsibility for making positive lifestyle changes.

The training provides conversational tools and templates based on a positive psychology approach, so attendees learn how to support people to gain self awareness and insight to identify solutions for themselves, and create a plan to move forward.

It's a relief for attendees to know they don't need to have all the answers!  They will gain a clear understanding of when to recognise their own limits in providing support and to refer someone to specialist help if needed.

READY TO APPLY TOOLS & TECHNIQUES

The training goes beyond awareness, as it's the new skills attendees acquire to give them confidence in having supportive wellbeing discussions that will make the difference.

So attendees will come away with a range of practical tools and techniques they can put into practice straight away.

Learning includes group discussion and practice, plus, I provide follow up support for 3 months so attendees can answer any questions as they implement their new skills.

ALLOWS FOR SELF REFLECTION

As attendees progress through each training course, depending on their role, they are encouraged to examine their own wellbeing and behaviours, and how these may impact the health of others.

We focus on using these insights to guide attendees towards behaviours and management styles that are more supportive for mental wellbeing in the workplace.

Building on this awareness we look at attendees roles in co-creating psychologically safe working environments.

TACKLES MISCONCEPTIONS OF MENTAL HEALTH

The training will help improve attendees awareness of the common misconceptions that underpin the labels and stigma about mental ill health.  Helping them change the way they perceive people experiencing mental ill health and the language they use.

With this new understanding attendees will have more openness to seeing others perspectives to enable more empathetic discussions.  These will more likely lead to mutually beneficial outcomes when dealing with performance and absence situations in the workplace.

FURTHER WELLBEING TRAINING

To support small businesses embed a culture of wellbeing in the workplace

Mental health training is not just a one off event, it takes ongoing commitment to prevent work related stress and support employees wellbeing.  Once people managers have received their initial training and actively implement the practical steps to create a psychologically safe working environment, the changes will begin.  However, additional training to build on these skills to create organisational resilience through helping employees develop a resilient mindset, and ensuring high performing teams will support a long term commitment to wellbeing.

HIGH PERFORMING TEAMS

How to embed the 5 dynamics of successful teams

Taking a leaf out of Google's insightful work on what makes an effective team, this is a bespoke workshop where I would work with management to identify ways they can ensure they create the environment for high performing teams.  Covering: psychological safety, dependability, structure & clarity. meaning of work and impact of work.

THE DEFININTION OF MENTAL HEALTH BY THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION

“A state of wellbeing in which the individual realises his/her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his/her community”
